Colusa is the county seat of the Colusa County located in the state of California in the United States. The city of Colusa is situated in the northwest of Sacramento, the capital of the state California. The Colusa County was created in the year 1850 but in the year 1891 and 1856, parts of the territory of the county were given to Glenn county and the Tehama county.
The city covers a total area of 1.151 square miles and the city is drained by a large number of streams such as Salt Creek and Elk Creek. Sacramento River forms the eastern boundary of the county. According to the census data of the year 2000, the city had a total population of 18,804 people including 4,578 families in 6,097 households.
The real estate market in the county has recently increased by 3.2% as compared to the second quarter of the year 2007. The median home price in the county is around $319,000. Although the fixed mortgage rates have decreased in the county for mortgage for the period the 30 year and 15 year but the jumbo 30 year mortgage rates have increased by 0.28%.
