The state is experiencing above average foreclosure rate due to the states lower wage and many residents borrowing on subprime mortgage loans, not expecting the interest rate and payment to go up. Many Georgians found out its almost impossible to refinance the mortgage they have because the value of the home is less than what they paid for. With Atlanta foreclosures and Georgia foreclosures on the rise and being sold at discount rates compare to resale homes, the value of many homes will continue to fall, creating a buying oppurtunity for many investors with cash on hand.
